ABC news says there is a health crisis at the border. On behalf of those ofyou who have been called ignorant, rabid, fear mongering and whatever else over the past fouple of months for talking about the health and other problems....I thank ABC news for picking up the story.......
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA NEWS)
"Shreveport is being considered as one of many host cities to help house tens of thousands of unaccompanied young children from Central America flooding over America's borders.
KSLA News 12 has learned the International Association of Fairs and Expos contacted Shreveport's iconic Hirsch Coliseum at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds to see if it could be used as temporary housing.
"Even if we could serve in that capacity right now, let's say it happened tomorrow, we'd only be able to serve for the month of August and maybe halfway into September," said Chris Giordano, general manager of the Louisiana State Fair."
"I was told that someone from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security would be contacting me.
When contacted by KSLA about the potential takeover by the government for the purpose of housing illegals, Shreveport native and front runner to be next Governor of Louisiana, U.S. Senator David Vitter had this to say:
"It doesn't fit in for Louisiana at all. It's outrageous, we need to solve the problem. The President needs to detain and deport these illegals, not simply move them to Louisiana or anywhere else and house them indefinitely."
"I think it's outrageous that we're housing these folks on a long-term basis, in some cases releasing them into society.
Sen.Vitter says he wrote to Homeland Security and asked detailed questions about any plans they had involving Louisiana.
The area is also the home of Barksdale Air Force Base, another prime target of warehousing illegals, only without any community input on the matter.
This building was the place the phrase "Elvis has left the building", was first uttered, where Hank Williams Sr. gave one of his last concerts, and where every major music act from the Rolling Stones on down rocked the roof from the 1950's through the 1990's......Now, possibly a flophouse/outhouse for people the Obama administration are using as pawns in their scam of fundamental change.
Yesterday the House Oversight and Reform Committee is Examining the Justice Department’s Response to the IRS Targeting Scandal.
The witness is The Honorable James M. Cole, the Deputy Attorney General. Cole is refusing to answer questions about the investigation, giving the standard answer that he can’t comment on an ongoing investigation.
*Republicans held up Cole’s appointment back in 2010 because he is the lawyer who compared 9/11 to the drug trade.
Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., incoming chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, accused Cole of wanting to pursue terror suspects as a criminal matter in civilian courts. He cited a 2002 Legal Times column in which Cole called the Sept. 11 attacks “criminal acts of terrorism against a civilian population” — like the Oklahoma City bombing.
Cole went on to write that the United States has faced “many forms of devastating crime,” from the drug trade to organized crime to rape and child abuse. “The acts of Sept. 11 were horrible, but so are these other things,” he wrote.
King said Cole’s appointment indicates the administration wants to continue to implement “dangerous policies” of treating terrorism as a criminal issue. Attorney General Eric Holder, Cole’s new boss, has pushed for criminal trials but has struggled to bring mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed stateside for prosecution.
“I find it absolutely shocking that President Obama would appoint someone who has diminished the 9/11 terrorist attacks by comparing them to the drug trade and who believes that a civilian courtroom is the appropriate venue for 9/11 trials,” King said in a written statement. “I strongly oppose the recess appointment of James Cole to lead the national security team at the Department of Justice.”
Just to give you an idea of how today’s hearing is going, when asked by Chairman Issa if it would be proper to investigate anyone for a year and a half it there was not a smidgen of corruption, Cole answered that sometimes they continue an investigation in order to clear people who have done no wrong.
Here is Rep. Jordan’s opening statement:
Rep. DeSantis Q&A:
Gowdy Questions Deputy AG Cole about IR:
Professor Jonathan Turley of George Washington University Law School, Elizabeth Price Foley, Professor of Law, Florida International University College of Law, Simon Lazarus, Senior Counsel, Constitutional Accountability Center, and Walter Dellinger III, Partner, O’Melveny & Meyers LLP.
Professor Turley is a liberal who has genuine sympathy for many of Obama’s policies, but not how he’s executing them. Unlike me, he doesn’t question his motives, but he does worry about the development of what he calls an “Uber Presidency” under Obama.
Turley told the committee, “our system is changing and this body is the one branch that must act if we are to reverse those changes.
“A dominant presidency has occurred with very little very little congressional opposition, Turley continued. “Indeed, when Obama pledged to circumvent congress he received rapturous applause from the very body he was proposing to make practically irrelevant.”
How is it that congressional Democrats, who once applauded Bill Clinton’s populist triangulations, migrated their enthusiasms in a mere decade from “the era of big government is over” to “I’ve got a pen and I’ve got a phone”?
How did the party of “the first balanced budget in a generation” become utterly unconcerned about a never-ending string of the largest budget deficits in human history?
Then there is this:“White privilege” is being used by the left whenever they want to portray the image that anybody who’s white and successful got that way only because they’re white, despite any hard work they may have done to reach their goals.
There’s a woman who believes she’s been slighted in life by “white privilege,” and she started a crowdfunding campaign to make up the difference in earnings that she feels she’s entitled to.
GoFundMe user Yaya M launched an “I need some white privilege!” campaign on Wednesday in an effort to raise money she feels that she has been denied due to her lack of white privilege, and it’s every bit as ridiculous as you would expect.
"Although I have layered oppressions that have affected my ability to access my slice of the American Pie™, no issue has affected me more readily than my lack of white privilege."
"In return for paying for my white privilege, I would love to give you some "black privilege" in return! Yes, it is difficult being a black person but there are some neat perks, as you will discover if you donate!"
And of course, some are giving her money...
"I figure that the more money you raise, the better chances you'll be all over the news like that dude with the potato salad. Also, white privilege has helped me out a ton, and I've got more than enough to share." - $5.00
"These people, these privileged mewling infants who are too moronic to understand what exactly having white grandparents mean, they make an excellent spittoon." - $5.00
"I have both white AND male privilege. This is more privilege than I need, so I'm glad to have an opportunity to share some of it with you. - " $25.00
So far, in 7 days she's gotten 294 donations, raising just shy of $5000. Her end goal is to raise $135,000, which she calculated by averaging her work history with what she feels is the estimated rate of monetary disadvantage.
If you can stomach the rest it’s here.
