City of Ingleside: It is not safe to return at this time

Current notice from the National Weather Service indicates the Category 1 Hurricane is currently in the Victoria area and anticipates it downsizing to Tropical Storm Winds by 2:00 p.m. 

Ingleside has already been downgraded to Tropical Storm winds. The NWS anticipates this storm drifting back toward Ingleside area with more rain.  The city expects to receive up to an additional 15 inches of rain as it comes back into the area, and they are delaying re-entry. 

The city will notify residents when it is safe to return.  IT IS NOT SAFE TO RETURN AT THIS TIME.  Residents will NOT be allowed to re-enter the area at this time.  

If you know of someone in the area that did not evacuate, please let the city know their name/address/# of people/any medical concerns so they can check on them.  The city will not be able to provide responses, but can provide information to the local authorities to check on them for any medical needs.

Currently there is a Water Boil Alert for the residents of Ingleside.  Boil your water for at least 2 minutes before using.  It is okay to shower with, but not for brushing teeth, drinking, or cooking with unless you boil it for at least 2 minutes.

There are downed power lines, potential gas leaks, lots of downed trees, various debris, and some flooding.  Until rescue workers and qualified individuals can secure these areas, you are advised to stay in your house/other safe structure. 

There are still winds and more rain expected.  Do not leave your secure location until emergency authorities can clear the power lines, debris from the streets, and the flooded areas have receded.
