Earlier this morning, Nueces County Judge Lloyd Neal and Emergency Operation Center Staff met to begin making damage assessments.
The public is reminded that Hurricane Harvey continues to stall in the area, and the major continuing threat remains vast amounts of rainfall.
It is highly recommended that evacuees remain out of the area to give crews the opportunity to restore power and to remove debris on the roadways.
Padre Island and Mustang Island are inaccessible at this time.
Nueces County has supplies at this time, and is not asking for volunteers, equipment, or other supplies at this point. Those concerned however, may donate to the Coastal Bend Community Foundation and designating the Coastal Bend Disaster Recovery Group
Please continue to monitor local weather conditions and government public notices.
As Judge Neal states, it is time to look after each other. We will get through this together and rebuild after. Be safe.
