Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation has opened, and extended the hours of operation to four recreation facilities in the city.
The city says that the extended hours are to give young people a safe place to go until local schools reopen.
Starting today, through September 1, the following facilities will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Lindale Recreation Center, 3133 Swantner Drive
- Joe Garza Recreation Center, 3204 Highland Avenue
- Oak Park Recreation Center, 842 Erwin Drive
- Ben Garza Gym, 1815 Howard Street
The city’s remaining recreation will be closed until power is restored.
