A group of locals has come together to provide food to one of the cities hit hard by Hurricane Harvey, Ingleside.
This Saturday, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 2414 Main Street in Ingleside, Texas, volunteers will offer food to rescue workers, volunteers and local families in need of a hot meal. They'll also be assisting with those who need trees cut or other help.
The food starts at 5 p.m., with volunteers arriving around 2 p.m. to get things started. The group is asking anyone interested in volunteering to meet them at the site.
In addition, they'll be taking donations to distribute this Saturday at the event, and are in search of water, non-perishable food items, diapers, baby wipes, tooth paste, tooth brushes, hand sanitizer, and clothing. They will also be taking cash donations to go towards more food.
The group thanked Fuddruckers, Mike Shaw Automotive, Finish Line Detail, Miller's BBQ, Wildcat Motors Corpus Christi and Bill Miler's BBQ for their assistance.
