International Joint Venture To Bring Petrochemical Plant To Gulf Coast

President Donald Trump Welcomes Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin-Hamad Al-Thani To The White House

An international joint venture is planning to build a new petrochemical plant on the Texas Gulf Coast. Chevron Phillips Chemical and Qatar Petroleum announced their upcoming development of the eight-billion-dollar plant. Construction will create about nine-thousand jobs, and 600 full-time employees will operate the plant. The signing ceremony at the White House was attended by President Donald Trump and an official from the nation of Qatar. The CEOs of both companies were also present.

At peak construction, the project would support an estimated 9,000 construction jobs and once operational, approximately 600 full time positions. The site’s location would be in the Gulf Coast region, where there is direct access to the significant shale natural gas liquid reserves of the Permian Basin.
