Tropical Storm Imelda Develops in The Gulf

Tropical Storm Imelda made landfall near Freeport,Texas this afternoon. The storm is expected to bring heavy rain to parts of Texas over the next 48 hours.

A Tropical Storm developed in the Gulf off the Texas coast on Tuesday. Tropical Storm Imelda is expected to bring heavy rain to parts of Texas, with the most significant totals being east of I-35. The rainfall totals will be much greater in the Houston and Galveston areas, where 6-8 inches of rain are likely, with some isolated areas with up to 12 inches of rain. The rain totals will be less to the west, with the Austin area expected to get 1 to 1.5 inches of rain, with San Antonio getting about .5 to an inch. The rain is expected to continue through Thursday.
