Texas House Representative Sylvia Garcia is demanding the Department of Defense conduct a full independent investigation into the death of Vanessa Guillen. The Houston Democrat met with Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy and other officials at the Pentagon on Friday. McCarthy will also name a panel of sexual harassment experts to probe Fort Hood, where Guillen was killed in April. Guillen was a 20-year-old private from Houston.
