It May Take 3 Months To Clear Lake Jackson's Drinking Water System

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is promising the state will do what it can to help Lake Jackson after the discovery of a deadly amoeba in the water supply. Abbott told reporters today Lake Jackson's water supply will be flushed and disinfected with chlorine to make sure it's safe for drinking. A boil water notice is still in effect.

Governor Abbott also asked people to pray for the family of a young boy who died after drinking amoeba-tainted water earlier this month.

The governor added multiple private companies are helping residents by providing bottled water. The CDC, EPA, and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality are all working on the water issues with local officials.
