Masks, Capacity Limits May Be Required For State Capitol In 2021 Session

Pandemic precautions may be in place in the Texas Capitol during the 2021 legislative session. State Rep. Charlie Geren, chair of the administrative operations committee for the Texas House, told some lobbyists on Tuesday the building may have mask mandates and limits on the number of people allowed inside at a time. The Republican from Fort Worth also said the 150 members of the House may be allowed to vote on bills from somewhere else in the building other than the floor. Geren said other measures may also be in effect.
