Kanye West is buying Parler.

“In a world where conservative opinions are considered to be controversial we have to make sure we have the right to freely express ourselves,” West said in a statement released by Parler on Monday (October 17).

Ye's decision to buy the conservative social media platform comes after he was locked out of his Twitter and Instagram accounts for making antisemitic remarks. Earlier this month on Instagram, Ye claimed that SeanDiddyCombs was being controlled by Jewish people. Meanwhile, on Twitter, Ye’s account was restricted after he said he would go “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.”

Parler is an alleged alternative to Twitter with limited content moderation. The controversial app describes itself as a “premier free speech app.”

The right-wing-friendly platform said on Monday that their agreement with Ye helps “assure Parler a future role in creating an uncancelable ecosystem.” The deal is reportedly set to close by the end of the year.
