Trump: Iran Claim About CIA Is Total Lie

Map of Iran

President Trump is again knocking down Iran's claim about capturing 17 CIA spies. Speaking at the White House today, Trump criticized Iran's ongoing behavior and said it's hard to imagine making a deal with Tehran. Trump said it could go either way. He argued that Iran is a very mixed-up country and is doing very poorly right now. Trump ridiculed Iran for denying that the U.S. took down one of its drones last week. He said the proof lies at the bottom of the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says the United Kingdom is responsible for taking care of its own ships after an oil tanker was captured by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz. In an interview with Fox News, Pompeo said the world is waking up to the fact that this Iranian threat is real. British Prime Minister Theresa May issued a fresh call for Iran to release the Stena Impero ship and its 23-person crew. Pompeo added that Iran has conducted what amounts to "national piracy," what he defined as "a nation-state taking over a ship that's traveling in international waters." Pompeo says the United States plays a big role, but other nations around the world have to play their part to keep the "sea lanes open."
