Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Performing Arts Center welcomes you to an unforgettable community musical and cultural experience. Come and celebrate a beautiful musical art form at Corpus Christi’s premier festival del mariachi – Festival de Mariachi en la Isla. Now in its third year, Festival de Mariachi en la Isla will be held on Thursday, April 13, through Sunday, April 16, at the TAMU-CC Performing Arts Center. The festival will include performances by area and regional high school ensembles as well as the Island University’s Mariachi de la Isla, along with workshops, a movie screening, and a mariachi service at Corpus Christi Cathedral. Headliners include performances by Mariachi Las Altenas and Mariachi Azteca de America. Festivalgoers can also browse items for sale by vendors, enjoy activities like face-painting and arts and crafts, watch or participate in a Grito contest, and purchase food from food trucks. Tickets are $5 for general admission Saturday daytime; $10 for Friday/Saturday evening concerts; children aged 5 or younger are free.
