Man Who Claimed Sleepwalking Dream Caused Wife's Murder Convicted

Gavel on sounding block

The Texas Gulf Coast man who claimed a sleepwalking dream caused him to kill his wife is headed to prison. A Harris County jury convicted Raymond Lazarine of murder this afternoon. Defense attorneys unsuccessfully argued Lazarine should not be held liable for the 2013 killing of Debrah Lazarine because the man didn't know what he was doing. The man's son and stepdaughter testified he was a heavy drinker who was abusive and made threats against their mother. Sentencing is at a later date.
