A former Fort Bliss soldier was sentenced to life in prison yesterday for the death of another soldier. Twenty-two year old Zachary Johnston pled guilty to murder in the 2017 death of Tyler Croke. Prosecutors say Johnston was one of five men who showed up at Croke's East El Paso apartment, where authorities say two of them held the victim down as one slit his throat. Officials say the men entered Croke's apartment in order to steal drugs.
