Texas Extends Added SNAP Food Benefits Through April

Texas is extending the added SNAP food benefits through April. The state Health and Human Services Commission is providing around $254 million in emergency funding. This will make sure each eligible household gets a minimum of $95 in emergency allotments. Anyone getting more than $95 won't see a change in their benefits. The added funding should appear in accounts by April 30th. SNAP recipients will keep seeing the 15% increase in their total benefits, which will go through September of this year.
