If you’re a federal employee feeling the pinch from the government shutdown, some good news. A local business is stepping up to help. L&F Distributors will provide lunch on Wednesday, November 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The company will host a BBQ Plate Pick-up event for federal government employees affected by the shutdown.
The event will take place at L&F Distributors, 8761 Highway 44, Corpus Christi, TX 78406, and is open to all current federal workers—whether furloughed or working without pay. The first 1,000 guests will receive a complimentary BBQ plate and non-alcoholic beverage, provided by L&F Distributors staff and volunteers.
To participate, guests are asked to bring their federal agency employee badge to verify employment. Eligible agencies include, but are not limited to, the U.S. Border Patrol, FBI, DEA, Coast Guard, Federal Courts, TSA, and Air Traffic Controllers.
“Federal employees are financially vulnerable during government shutdowns," says L&F Owner Tony LaMantia who says the goal is simple: to support those hit hardest by the shutdown.
"We encourage our community leaders to come together and help our affected local families however they can," says LaMantia.
The event underscores L&F Distributors’ continued commitment to supporting the Corpus Christi community and its federal workforce during challenging times.
The lunch is Wednesday, November 12th, 11am to 3pm, at L&F Distributors on Highway 44.
