TRAFFIC ADVISORYFor Immediate ReleaseUpcoming Harbor Bridge Project lane closures to affect IH 37CORPUS CHRISTI – Upcoming closures related to the Harbor Bridge Project will affect IH 37 beginningFriday, January 5, 2018. Work is not expected to affect traffic on the Harbor Bridge. All work is weather permitting. Details of the closures are listed below.

January 5, 2018The left lane of the northbound frontage road of IH37 between Port Avenue and Nueces Bay Boulevard will be closed through July 2018. On street parking will be restricted in this location beginning Thursday, January 4, 2018.

The southbound right lane of IH 37 will be closed between Nueces Bay Boulevard and Port Avenue and the southbound IH 37 entrance ramp at Nueces Bay Boulevard will also be closed through July 2018.

January 5, 2018 to January 10, 2018Northbound IH 37 entrance ramp at Port Avenue and the exit ramp to Nueces Bay Blvd will be closed. Traffic will shift to the left during this closure and the right shoulder will be closed.

Additionally, various lanes will be closed in the northbound direction of IH 37 for striping and concrete barrier placement. Striping will begin Friday, January 5 through Saturday, January 6, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Traffic will be reduced to one lane northbound. Concrete barrier placement will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday, January 8 through Wednesday, January 10, with a single right lane reduction.

Motorists are urged to be aware of the lane closures, to consider using alternate routes to avoid delay, to follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones.
