Socialism.
How in the name of sweet Boyd Crowder can ANYONE think it's an idea whose time has come?What do they think socialism means? I guess I'm going too far giving credit for...."thinking."Definitions matter. For the record, Merriam-Webster defines socialism as “any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.”
Simply, socialism is taking money and property from some people so it can be given to make everyone more or less equal.
The new darling of the Democrat Party is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Her official platform “offers support for free college, ‘housing as a human right,’ ‘Medicare for all,’ and a mandatory minimum living wage.” She is proposing that stealing is the right of governments.
Who would pay for all this “free” stuff? The answers vary, but all have one thing in common: confiscatory taxation. Those enamored with socialism have no idea what it is or its long-term consequences.Here are some responses from young people when asked about socialism:
“I don’t know where the money would come from, but they can figure it out,” one person stated confidently.One supporter of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez “seemed to think Americans would be okay with paying higher taxes, saying ‘with a good idea, and a good reason to spend their tax money, people wouldn’t actually mind paying more taxes.’”Another admitted that they’re not quite sure what it is that they like about Ocasio-Cortez’s economic philosophy but insisted that “I just know that democratic socialist is better than conservative.”
What if I minded paying more taxes? If so many people don’t mind paying more taxes, why don’t they voluntarily pay more taxes?
