From my good friend Shirley Thornton:
My brother-in-law, Dan Thornton, also writes poetry. I thought you'd get a kick out of his latest poetic piece. I believe you said she looked as if "she had seen a dog talk."
Chuck and Nancy Respond
Copyright 2019, Dan Thornton
Chuck was a schmuck and Nancy a shrew
A half brain between them when there should have been two
Their eyes would roll, and their heads would nod
The audience cringed and said, "My God"
They're awful, they're ugly and deceitful as snakes
Their plasticized smiles revealed them as fakes
Nancy spoke first with a lie and a sneer
The witch of the west, she holds nothing dear
Chucky came next and I thought good grief
Pass out the barf-bags - I need some relief
